§ 01 — Removes

What it removes

  • Background noise from your mic
  • Background voices (Voice Isolation, with a compatible headset)
  • Noise in the audio you hear from others (Speaker Noise Cancellation)
  • Echo and room echo
§ 02 — Limits

What it cannot do

  • No free plan: a 7-day trial, then a paid plan
  • Windows and macOS only; the mobile app does not cancel noise
  • The chat app must select Krisp Microphone, and Krisp Speaker for incoming audio
  • Does not work alongside other virtual microphones
  • Firefox and Safari cannot use Krisp Speaker
  • For Discord, Krisp's own help points you to Discord's built-in Krisp instead

Noise cancellation is part of every plan; there is no plan for noise cancellation alone. Inside Discord, Krisp is free as Discord's built-in noise suppression.

§ 03 — Setup

Where the setting is

Chat app audio settings → Microphone: Krisp Microphone; then in the Krisp app, pick your real mic and turn noise cancellation on

After you switch, run the noise test with the Krisp microphone selected in your browser's mic list, and compare the floor with your plain mic.
