What it removes
- Background noise from your mic, such as keyboard clicks (ClearCast AI on the Microphone channel)
- Noise in your teammates' voices (ClearCast AI on the Chat channel)
What it cannot do
- Windows only
- GG has to keep running in the background; close it completely and the filter stops
- Noise Reduction and Noise Gate switch off while ClearCast AI is on, because it already includes them
- SteelSeries recommends Minimal or Medium; Maximum is the most aggressive, can affect your voice and suits only very noisy places
- Use either ClearCast AI or Discord's own noise suppression, not both: SteelSeries says they may not work well together
- Any headset works, but SteelSeries says results are best with its own
Where the setting is
SteelSeries GG → Sonar → Microphone → ClearCast AI Noise Cancellation on, then Minimal, Medium or Maximum; in the chat app, pick SteelSeries Sonar - Microphone as the input
After you switch, run the noise test with the SteelSeries Sonar ClearCast AI microphone selected in your browser's mic list, and compare the floor with your plain mic.
